1. Material composition
PVC sheets are made of vinyl and chlorine, making them harder and stronger. They are often used in the construction, signage and electrical industries because they are highly resistant to chemicals, impact and moisture. On the other hand, PET sheets are made of thermoplastic polymer resins, making them more transparent, flexible and lightweight. PET sheets are widely used in the packaging, printing and labeling industries.
2. Appearance and color differences
PVC sheets have a naturally thicker and more opaque texture than PET sheets. They come in a variety of shades such as white, gray and black. Opaque sheets are often used as partitions or screens. PET sheets, on the other hand, have a glossy and transparent appearance. They are usually colorless or come in brighter colors such as yellow, blue and green.
3. Chemical and heat resistance
PVC sheets have good chemical resistance and are suitable for use in environments where chemical resistance is required. However, they have a low heat capacity, which makes them unsuitable for certain high-temperature applications. PET sheets have excellent resistance to most chemicals, and some grades can withstand heat temperatures up to 220 degrees Celsius. PET sheets are the preferred material for packaging because they are safe for food and medical applications.

4. Burning
When burning, black smoke billows, and the pungent smell is strong and there are black crystals on the edge of the burning is PVC sheet, because PVC sheet is polyvinyl chloride molecule, which is combustible and will automatically extinguish when leaving the fire source. PET sheet will also burn under the flame, with little black smoke and light, and will continue to burn even after leaving the fire source.
5. Folding mark identification
Cut a small piece of each material and fold them in half. You will find that most PVC sheets will produce white creases, so the ones with white marks at the fold are generally PVC sheets. The ones with inconspicuous or almost invisible white marks are PET sheets.
