Manufacturing process of PVC
Without any plasticizers, the composition of PVC makes the material stiff and durable. This denotes that the plastic boards are strong and demands a thorough and comprehensive process of manufacturing.
Polymerization
The sequence initiates with polymerization of VCM to get PVC resin. An exothermic reaction is caused by heating up to pressure of 0.3 MPa while VCM is mixed with iron chloride. Adding peroxide or some other initiator can catalyze the reaction further. A polymerization reaction produces a following powdered PVC resin.
Mix
Subsequently, PVC resin is mixed with various additives such as stabilizers, lubricating oil, and pigment. This enhances the quality of the product. Combine the additives with PVC resin in order to have a uniform substance.
Extrusion
Then, the PVC mixture is supplied into an extruder which heats the material and, using the mechanical screw, forces it through a shaped die which gives a cross-section profile. The profiles can vary in configures and dimensions as per the design requirements.

Extruded profiles are cooled through a water bath or air cooling system, allowing them to solidify and maintain their shape
Cutting and finishing
The cooled profile is subsequently cut to length and finished to the needed specifications, e.g. drilling, welding or gluing.
